Description

I have a network card with AR5008X chipset. My laptop is a asus c90s, I tried to install madwifi 0.94, but does not work. I search for a solution on google, but no one with my laptop has solved. I run ubuntu 8.04.

Well, take a look at 0.9.4 release notes... see "Known Issues"

  • No AR5008 support in this release; support is available in trunk

thank you, I tried also madwifi trunk but it doesn't work, I have the same problem reported here: hxxps://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.24/+bug/192119

what do I have to do?

Well, if the trunk-code doesn't work... I would "ship" that **** thing BACK where it came from... oh, and if still you want wifi, then you want a Intel 4965N too! It's much better and it HAS 802.11n support!

Please refrain from such comments in the future. If trunk "does not work", this might have a load of reasons, and without any further information from the original poster it's impossible to say whether this is a bug in the driver or just a layer-8-issue.
